About Us

“Working for Inclusion, Wellbeing, Justice, and Leadership”

Serving Washington State, USA

Advocacy, by its very nature, requires an abundance of energy. People need to have their survival needs already met, consistently, before they can give their dedicated, ongoing efforts to long-term projects of uncertain success that do not materially benefit them. Many people of color, religious minorities, and members of disenfranchised and underserved communities are thereby habitually excluded from having their voices heard in the halls of power.

We exist to change that.

If we’re not at the table, we’re on the menu.

America is founded on diversity, inclusion, and opportunity. Despite ongoing and chronic nativism and a mindset of white superiority, immigration has provided fuel for this country’s economic engine since the very beginning. People who are new to this country bring energy, focus, newcomer’s vitality, initiative, and a tolerance for struggle that is often missing from those who grew up in the comparative comforts of native US citizenship. A country would be foolish not to proactively incorporate, and provide room and opportunity to, its hardworking newcomers. Exclusion and tribalism lead to the cutting-off of vital flows of energy, which are embodied in people whose lives are fully invested in making good out of their presence here. Without immigrants, a nation such as ours soon crumbles.

Yet, immigrant rights and opportunities are too-rarely defended in the halls of power. Our contributions go unacknowledged, or worse, are seen as taking something from native-born Americans when in fact, by our efforts, society is made stronger for everyone, native-born and immigrant alike.

People of Color Community Coalition exists to provide a venue for collaborative, concrete action by immigrants, Muslims and other religious minorities, BIPOC community members, disabled veterans, marginalized and disenfranchised people, and all allies. We focus on legislative advocacy, funding distribution, community building, and cross-cultural outreach. We are proudly BIPOC- and immigrant-led, anti-racist, and pro-human, and are committed to excellence in inclusion, wellbeing, justice, and leadership.
